Zucca Posting

Oh hey you found the kinda secret Zucca page! Behold! My asthmatic and renally impaired cat!
=^_^=

Fun Zucca Facts!

  • Zucca is a muted tortie mid-hair.
  • She was found in a ditch with her brother, who’s since passed, Felix aka Beef.
  • Zucca is Italian for pumpkin. Named such for the orange blaze on her forehead.
  • A lot of people pronounce it Zooka, which I have discovered is the correct pronunciation for the Italian word. I pronounce it Zuck-ah. She pronounces it “Mrphchirp”.
  • I also call her “Da Binz”
  • She went to the emergency vet in 2023 for haggard breathing and almost didn’t make it back out. She was in pretty rough shape when I got her. The vets worked so hard on her and the lead on her case called her “a strong little fighter”. Odds were 50/50 she’d ever make it home. Needless to say, she did.
  • She now lives with the upper respiratory disease
  • She has two pills she has to take every day because she went ballistic on the vets when they tried to nebulize her normally.
  • She costs $250/month to keep around. Pretty big subscription, but 100000% worth it.
  • She likes to chirp and chortle and occasionally actually meow. I call her vocalizations “Chirpilations”.
  • She plays fetch with crinkle/foil balls.
  • She sometimes chipmunks her pills. As in, she’ll “take it”, shove it into her cheek, walk away, and spit it out later. I never realize it until she starts having asthma attacks. I’ve started trying to be more vigilant of her tomfoolery, but one of her pills is so small its hard to find in the apartment’s carpet. I believe she is very much aware of this.
  • PetSmart brand wet food is currently her favorite thing besides her nip-flavored Greenies.
  • Zucca has a mild reaction to catnip.
  • She loves the kitty in the videogame Stray. She goes up to the screen and taps it.
  • Zucca was diagnosed with renal disease in May of 2024 (almost exactly a year after her respiratory infection). She is on a lifetime of subcutaneous fluids.
  • She is currently thriving on 1 lung and ~.5 kidneys. That sounds awful, but she’s really feeling the best she ever has. Poor girl has always had problems, but now we’re getting them under control and she’s living her best life.
  • The orange boy she’s with is her brother BEEF, legally Felix, who has since crossed the rainbow bridge.

All profit from initial sales will be going towards taking care of this bean. She has racked up quite the debt and won’t find a job so it’s up to me to make ends meet. We’re scraping by on my paycheck, but book sales will make an immense difference in both of our lives. Remember, you don’t have to read or review it or anything, but please consider purchasing a book to support Da Binz.
